Hello and welcome to Guidance and School Counseling! Our mission is to help meet the academic needs of all students by facilitating teacher/student and student/student relationships. Students stop by and see us before or after school or during your lunch period. You can also fill out a "Counselor Request Form" or email your counselor if you wish to be seen during regular school hours.
Parents/Guardians, we welcome your input. Please feel free to call 671-4822 to set up an appointment with your son/daughter's guidance counselor or to set up a conference with his/her teachers. Our fax number is 671-4829.

General Information / Official Records
Your child's cumulative records are housed in the Guidance Office. If you need to review anything in your child's folder, please call for an appointment to have someone review the contents with you. If you need copies of documents in your child's folder, please call ahead and we will try and have it ready for you to pick up or send it home with your child. If you request more than two copies, a charge will be assessed at five cents per copy. If you are transferring out of LWHS to another school, we will forward all documents to your child's new school. Once you register at the new school, they will request the records.
*If you are a non-custodial parent who wishes to have copies of report cards or interim reports, please send a self-addressed stamped business envelope to the Guidance Office and we will mail it home to you.
Course and Program Offerings
Click on Discover Lake Weir High School to discover more about our Career and Technical Education Programs and International Baccalaureate Program. We also have an award-winning music program, an outstanding and awarded JROTC program, and academic electives to choose from. If you would like more information or to build a schedule for a pathway in continued education after high school, employment, or enlistment, then contact your grade level school counselor listed above.
Course Requests/Selection/Class Size
The balancing of classes is a normal part of opening school each year, but the process does cause some students to have their schedules changed. Many students are asking for schedule changes for their elective classes. Our guidance counselors are trying to honor student requests, but please know we have limited seats available in our elective classes. Not all requests can be completed.
