Lake Weir High School
Spring 2026 Assessment & Final Exam Notification

Dear Parent/Guardian,

As we approach the end of the school year, Lake Weir High School will begin administering Spring 2026 State Assessments and Final Exams. These assessments are an important part of your student’s academic progress, as they measure mastery of course standards, support appropriate course placement, and, in some cases, are required for graduation.

State Assessment Schedule

  • May 1: FAST PM 3 (Grades 9–10) and FAST ELA Reading Retakes (Grades 11–12 needing ELA graduation requirement)
  • May 5: B.E.S.T. Algebra 1 EOC
  • May 6: B.E.S.T. Geometry EOC
  • May 12: Biology 1 EOC and FCLE (U.S. Government students and select AICE students)
  • May 13: U.S. History EOC and FCLE (continued)

Final Exam Schedule

  • May 18–19: Senior Exams
  • May 26–27: Underclassmen Exams

Why These Assessments Matter
These assessments play a significant role in supporting student success. Certain assessments are tied directly to Florida’s graduation requirements, and End-of-Course (EOC) exams may also contribute to a portion of a student’s final course grade. Additionally, results help guide appropriate course placement and academic planning for future success.

Attendance Expectations
Student attendance during testing is extremely important. Please ensure your student arrives at school on time and remains on campus for the duration of their scheduled testing session. If a student leaves campus prior to completing a test (for example, for an appointment), they will not be permitted to return and finish that session. If your student is not feeling well, it is recommended that they remain home and participate in a scheduled make-up testing day instead.

Test Preparation Tips
Families can support their students’ success by encouraging a good night’s sleep, ensuring they eat a healthy breakfast, and promoting a positive and focused mindset on testing days. Practice materials and sample items are also available through the Florida statewide assessments portal for additional preparation.

Electronic & Prohibited Devices (Important)
Students are not permitted to have or access any electronic or prohibited devices during testing or breaks, including cell phones, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, or smart glasses, even if the devices are turned off. If a student is found with any electronic device during testing, their test will be invalidated and will not be scored.

Testing Rules & Academic Integrity
Students are expected to follow all testing rules and work independently. They may not discuss or share test content after testing, including through text messages or social media. Any violation of testing policies may result in invalidation of test scores.

Testing Irregularities & Retesting
In the event of a testing irregularity or scoring concern, students may be asked to provide information as part of a review process. Additionally, if the validity of a test is in question, a student may be required to retake the assessment.

Additional Information
Students will be provided with all necessary testing instructions before beginning their exams and will acknowledge the testing rules before starting. Appropriate accommodations will be provided for students with an Individual Educational Plan (IEP), Section 504 Plan, or English Language Learner (ELL) status.
